Building my sixties style chopper

Building my sixties style chopper

Here it goes. I’ve bought this Ironhead frame a few years ago from a guy that had it laying around. Since than i’ve been planning to build a true sixties style chopper.

Due to family expansions, job changes and finishing my education i never really got to start with this project. What i did manage was to collect as many parts as possible.
So far i’ve got; this frame, a bates style seat an p-pad, a real Wassel ribbed fender, several gas tanks, A-ford rear light, 35 mm front end, bates style headlight, home made handlebar, controls, grips, 19” front wheel, 16” rear wheel, really old pegs, a lot of other small parts and enough steel to turn this frame into a hardtail, build a frame jig and parts for the bike.

At this moment i’m building my own frame-jig so i can start with modifying the frame and start with fabricating parts for the bike.

This is how the frame looks like right now. An original 1979 Harley Davidson Ironhead frame.

And this is how the frame should look like when i’m done. 4” lower and 4” longer.
