Hardtail Update
After a few weeks of silence a new Hardtail Update.
It has been prety busy lately. Not only we had a week of drinking/partying ( Carnaval ) here in the south of the Netherlands, i also had to finish some stuff in our house, did some overtime on my daytime job and had to be a dad/husband in the sparetime.
Also the webshop asked for a lot of maintenance/performance improvement so i haven’t had a lot of time to work on the stuff i realy like.
I even have tot do my season checkups on the daily driver and have a lot of new ideas that still need to be executed on the daily driver.
On the hardtail i finally made the battery box. I tested the new sheet metal brake and it works pretty good with 2mm sheet metal. All i have to do now is weld up the seams and sort out some sort of mounting system.
I also drilled the tabs for the oil tank mounts. I can now start with shaping them and installing the top plate of the oil tank. Once that is sorted i can start with building the rest of the oil tank and add the bungs i allready made for the oil lines.
I’m still not sure if het 16″ rear wheel is the way i want to go with this build. Therefore i fitted an 18″ rear tire tot see if it looks better than the 16″. I love the big wheel but the stance of the bike is now way of, so i probably will stick with the 16″for now. I also want to add a rear drum brake instead of the sprocket/disc brake setup i’m running now. So next to an 1976, 1978 Ironhead engine, A dutch title i’m also looking for a XL Rear hub with disc brake. The list of parts needed is growing by the minute 🙂
Check out the new pictures in the Gallery and let me now what you think of the big rear wheel setup.
n.b. I’m still working on a new t-shirt design….. 😉 Still needs some fine tuning but i’m getting there.
